UMC Welcomes New Hires

United Mineral & Chemical Corporation is pleased to announce the hire of three new employees:

Ms. Nida Riaz:  Nida graduated from NJIT in 2015 with a BS in Chemical Engineering.  She joined our Metals division on 5/15/16 under the direction of Phil Befumo. Nida will be offering technical assistance to customers working with UMC’s ultrahigh purity MBE grade ingots and metal sources.  In addition she will also offer technical assistance on MBE-Komponenten’s MBE effusion cells, crackers, doping and sublimation sources as well as ancillary equipment and components.   Nida holds the position of Technical Sales Representative - Metals.

Mr. Mohammad Mahmoud:  Mohammad graduated from NJIT in 2016 with a BS in Chemical Engineering as well as an AS in Engineering Science.  He joined our Chemicals division on 6/1/16 under the direction of Sal Morreale.  Mohammad will focus on the research of successful marketing of new products that can be added our current line, which is aided by his background in chemical engineering.  He will also work with building relationships with current and potential new global suppliers.   Mohammad holds the position of Technical Sales Representative – Chemicals.

Ms. Aida Pleho:  Aida graduated from NJIT in 2016 with a BS in Chemical Engineering.  Aida will be working with all divisions at this time and handle special projects.  She will focus on learning the product lines of each division and in the next few months will be working closely with the General Manager of UMC. Aida holds the position of Technical Sales Representative.

New to UMC’s web site is our Thermochromic Pigment line

Thermochromic pigments are microcapsules that change color reversibly with temperature.The core contents of thermochromic pigments are leuco-dye, color developers and temperature controllers. By formulating with different temperature controllers, thermochromic pigments come in various activation temperatures.

• Available Activation Temperatures: – 15 oC to + 70 oC

• Colors: 15 available colors for each activation temperature. All colors can be mixed with each other or added to other pigments.
