UMC welcomes their new General Manager
United Mineral & Chemical Corporation has announced that David J. Kotowski has joined the company as the new General Manager of their Chemicals, Pigments and Metals business divisions as of September 1, 2016.
For the past 20 years Mr. Kotowski was Vice President and one of the founding members of Specialty Chemicals Sales, Inc. “Dave brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge to the UMC team” per Mike Sansonetti President of UMC.
UMC hires new Regulatory Coordinator
United Mineral & Chemical Corporation is excited to announce the hiring of Preston Hykes as its new Regulatory Coordinator. He will be located at the company’s Lyndhurst, New Jersey Corporate Headquarters.
Preston comes to UMC from his previous employment as a Senior Engineer for 10 years at Cardolite Corporation in Newark, NJ. His responsibilities at Cardolite included New Substance Registration and compliance with global inventory regulations as they pertained to TSCA, Canada, EU REACH, and Asian compliance programs. He also, was involved with authoring GHS-SDS compliant materials as well as Label Generation. All of these will be within his scope of duties at UMC.
Previous to his work at Cardolite, he spent time as a R & D and Plant Engineer at Union Carbide’s Specialty Chemical Plant in Edison, NJ as well as PQ Corporation in Avenel, NJ. His duties also included many work safety related issues (thus dealing with OSHA) and various other projects dealing with Hazardous Waste Management. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering at NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) in Newark, NJ.
